A second bottling line that nearly doubled output
A dietary supplement contract manufacturer running everything through one line. A complete second line, unscrambling to labeling, removed the single point of failure and nearly doubled output.
- bottles produced, near enough
- 2x bottles produced, near enough
- machines, one supplier
- 9 machines, one supplier
- capsule counts per bottle
- 20-240 capsule counts per bottle
One line for everything #
Provident Nutraceutical encapsulates powder into a variety of capsule sizes, bottled in counts of 20 to 240. From its Stevens Point, Wisconsin facility the company previously ran a single bottling line for all product types.
Expansion would add capacity and, just as importantly, remove a single point of failure: if one line went down, the other could keep running.
A complete line from one supplier #
Provident had bought from BellatRx before and chose a complete line from one manufacturer to simplify troubleshooting and part replacement.
We did our due diligence of checking out a few different companies when looking into a complete bottling line and, in the end, we liked what BellatRx offered and we knew how they stand behind their product and the service they provide.
Eric Peterson, Maintenance and Project Manager, Provident Nutraceutical

The line was ordered in early 2019, arrived in late December, and was in full production by early February 2020. A metal detector was purchased through BellatRx and integrated into the line.
The result #
Two bottling lines running night and day nearly doubled the company's output of bottles. Operators singled out the tool-free changeover on many of the machines, which makes setup, teardown and cleaning easier, and the training they received.
Provident is installing an MES system to pull data off the line, which much of the BellatRx machinery is already equipped for through its PLCs.
